The rod seals of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies persuade with their durability and high efficiency. They are primarily used in pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders. Their task is to seal the retracting and extending cylinder rod , thereby preventing the pressurised operating medium from escaping from the cylinder while protecting the cylinder from impurities. The piston seals of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies can be used in a variety of modern sealing systems: Their task is to seal the piston reliably against the cylinder tube and guarantee its movement efficiently with minimum friction and no drift. The piston seals persuade due to their durability and high functionality. They are suitable for all kinds of requirements.

Due to their symmetrical profile, symmetric seals can be used both as rod and piston seals. Rod and piston seals impress with their long service life. Their task is to seal the cylinder rod or piston against the cylinder barrel.

In pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders, wipers protect the inside of the cylinder against the penetration of dirt during the retraction of the rod. For every type of cylinder and application, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies offers the right wiper with maximum reliability and durability: individual wipers with or without metal reinforcement, as well as double wipers with or without pressure relief.

The task of guides is to guide the rods and pistons of pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders and prevent them from coming into direct metallic contact with the cylinder housing. The guides of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies are able to take up high shearing forces even in case of a short guiding distance and, at the same time, low frictional losses. They are also available as guide rings. Depending on the load, various materials may be used: PTFE, polyamide and laminated fabric. The guide bands of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies are particularly suitable for the high requirements of the food industry: They consist of the premium material PTFE Y005 and demonstrate a uniquely low extrusion tendency, therefore guaranteeing a long service life. The guide bands are used as sealing elements for pistons, for example, to compensate lateral forces in machines. In addition to the long service life, the guides persuade due to their resistance to CIP/SIP cleaning media and processes.

The V-packing sets of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies consist of a pressure ring, one or several V-rings and a support ring. These multi-part sealing sets are particularly well-suited for heavy duty applications, such as in large-size cylinders of industrial presses or scrap shears. The focus is on the aftermarket and the maintenance of (older) equipment. In addition to robustness and longevity, a major advantage of V-packing sets is that they can also be used temporarily on poor counter surfaces. The sealing sets are available as rod or piston seals. If the piston is pressurized on both sides, V-packing sets are installed in a back-to-back arrangement.

The rotary/swivel seals of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies are characterised by their high performance – even under a static load. They are particularly suitable for use in hydraulic joints and withstand high pressure loads, even in conjunction with translational motion and the related operating temperatures.
